Oksana Kovtonyuk

Dr Oksana Kovtonyuk graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University (Ukraine) in 2000. She received her doctoral degree (PhD) in oncology in 2008 from R.E. Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Her PhD thesis was on the proteinase-antiproteinase balance during growth of malignant tumours with induced cisplatin resistance. In the years 2004‒2009, she was employed as an young scientist in the Department of Anticancer Therapy Mechanisms, R.E. Kavetsky IEPOR, NAS of Ukraine. In 2009, she received Marie-Curie postdoctoral research fellowship under the Seventh Framework Program from the European Union and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Jagiellonian University, Poland. In the years 2011-2012, she worked as a Staff Scientist at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine.
Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Fellow within Piotr Religa’s research team, Medical University of Warsaw under the BASTION program.
