Karolina graduated Interdysciplinary Biotechnology Studies. After graduation she worked for two years in consulting company. Then in the years 2003-2007 ran research studies in the field of neurobiology at the Nencki Institute of Experimantal Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences. For the following two years she has worked on molecular oncology project at the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute of Oncology, and received PhD in molecular biology in 2009. In the years 2009-2013 she has led an R&D group in Celon Pharma pharmaceutical company, working on innovative targeted anticancer drugs. She received scientific fellowships at The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen and Institute of Neurobiology and Molecular Medicine, CNR in Rome. She attended several trainings on Intellectual Property, Human Resources and Project Management.

Within BASTION project Karolina is the innovation manager. Her goal is to identify the scientific research results that have applicable potential and to provide scientists with intellectual property protection. She is building a platform for science and business cooperation and creates tools that would improve the technology transfer at Medical University of Warsaw and other research institutes working in the field of experimental oncology.
