Dominika Nowis

Dominika Nowis

M.D., Ph.D. Associate Professor at the Department of Immunology in the Center of Biostructure, Medical University of Warsaw (MUW). She is a member of the Council of the First Faculty of Medicine and the Council of the Center of Biostructure at MUW. Her research focuses on mechanisms of intracellular protein degradation, biological effects of proteasome inhibitors, endoplasmic reticulum stress and unfolded protein response. She received START scholarship form the Foundation for Polish Science, Ph.D. award of the L’Oreal Poland for Women in Science as well as the Ministry of Science and Higher Education fellowship for outstanding young researchers
and was a laureate of “Stay with us” scholarship founded by “Polityka” magazine. In 2012 she received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland prize for her D.Sc. thesis, and in 2011, the Tomasz Jakub Michalski memorial Award and Parnas Award from the Polish Society of Biochemistry. In 2010 she was a member of the Young Scientists Council at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Since 2011 she has been a member of Interdisciplinary Team for Popularization of Science at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.She is interested in photography and cuisine and has a passion for traveling.
